Hi -

I'm hoping someone can answer a couple of simple EMC 8-related questions.

(FWIW-I did forum and support searches, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for.)

Question 1: Does EMC 8 include all the functionality of the stand-alone DiVX converter/encoder?

Question 2: Is anybody successfully, routinely and without problems able to use the included TiVo software to burn dvds? (My s2 TiVo is fully networked, with Desktop 2.2 on the PC end.)

Thanks,

Scott Atkinson

I don't have a Tivo, but I can answer #1. Several applications in EMC8 can convert video files to DivX. However, if you are trying to create a DivX DVD with menus, that is not possible. I know that DivX 6 supports menus, but I don't know of any software on the market that supports the menu features.
Phenom X4 965 3.4Ghz, 4gig DDR3, LG 47" 3D TV, Hitachi 1TB HD, Seagate 500GB, LiteOn iHBS112 Bluray, TSSTCorp SH-222A DVD, ATI HD3300 IGP, VIA HiDef audio with Logitech Z5500 THX certified 5.1 speakers, Epson 4490 scanner, Canon 9000Pro MarkII printer, Sharp AL1551CS laser printer/copier, Sony TRV740 8mm digital, Canon HV20 HDV camcorder and Fuji S7000 for still photos, Win7 Home Premium

System 2: HP DV7 laptop, Turion II Dual Core 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 640GB hard drive, ATI Mobility HD4650, ATI HiDef Audio, Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

Thanks very much.

Roxio says, in its web info, that EMC 8 can "Create DivX 6 movies with fully navigable menus." Any idea what that refers to?

Best,

Scott A.

I believe that is referring to the Video Compilation area of Disc Copier. It looks like in there you can burn a DivX dvd and have it create menus. You should explore that app & it's help files to see if that's what you are looking to do.
