After burning either a data CD or DVD I find that it will "read" on another (remote) computer. How can I accomplish this? I was able to use this function on an earlier version of Easy Media Creator.

Which specific application of the 35 different programs in the Suite are you using?

What are the Project and Burn settings you are using when you burn?

I would hope you aren't using Drag to Disc, but that is the only program that I know of, that will give you this option.

Using Drag to Disc is good for one thing only..... immediate transfer of data from one computer to another.  If you are using it for any other purpose, you are playing Russian Roulette.

If you want to make permanent backups of your important data, use Creator Classic, instead.

James,
I am using the "Data Disc" application. I wanted to burn a downloaded file of printer drivers for a friend who does not have Internet access. I was able to burn said disc OK, but it would not read on my friend's PC where it would on mine. I used to be able to make data discs on my PC and transfer them to remote PC's. I don't know if this feature is still available in Easy Media Creator 9? Thanks for your reply.

If you are using Data Disc from the Home app make sure you go to options and put the dot by "I only need discs for one recording".
If you are using Creator Classic when you hit burn and get the Burn Options screen make sure that Read-Only disc is checked under General options.

I am not too happy using the Home menu to get into applications… I would navigate directly to Classic – Start – All Programs – Roxio~ - Data – Classic.

Likewise review the good tips that Bruce and Terry have posted!!!

One other thought, depending on the drive on the target PC, it may not be able to read certain media.

Hi GrandPa, I see where you say using D2D is like playing russian roulette, I agree, but what I don't understand is, I paid good money for that program to work the right way and it does not. Now why can't these bozo's fix this program so it will run and be used as per their instruction and any other of their advertisements says that it will. I have talked to their techs and they can't spell COMPUTER> They don't have a clue. I think something at Sonic and Roxio STINK!! and I think I got RIPPED OFF!!!

Sincerely,
Ralph T.
