As a newbe I have been doing my homework reading all relevant postings in this forum, trying to figure out why everyone but me has had no issues with getting their chapter buttons on the sub menus. Once I saw a post with a captured image of the "Edit Chapters" screen showing the checked option to have buttons added for each chapter I knew I had an "issue". I have no such option available.

If the administrator will please turn on the file attachments option I'll post an image of my "Edit Chapters" window.

My question is do I need to upgrade to MyDVD premier or do I have a technical problem?

Good possibility that function is not available in MyDVD 9 Studio although that would be really strange if it isn't.  We're users like yourself and don't have a list of specific features in all the versions.

Thank you for your reply Gary, and very good point. Let me re-phrase my request to the group.

If you are running MyDVD v9 Studio, do you have the option in the Edit Chapter window that I described in my first post?

I have my answer. This feature is not available in MyDVD Studio. In fact, it's not available in MyDVD Studio Premier either, but "Add New Unlinked Button" menu item is, and this gets the job done.

I have just upgraded to MyDVD Studio Premeir. I'm still curious about which Roxio software does have the "auto generate menu button for each chapter" feature, but at least I now have full menu generation capability.

I had the impression that MyDVD 9 Studio Premier was identical to the one in EMC 9 Suite which does have the 'auto generate submenu Chapters'.

Appearantly MyDVD 9 Studio Premier is not the same as MyDVD in EMC 9 Suite, with one caveat. I'm running MyDVD on an XP x64 machine, so there is a small chance that I have a GUI issue. I would like to hear from another MyDVD 9 Studio Premier user to confirm. Anybody?

Sorry to rant, but if the Roxio had a decent feature comparison chart I wouldn't have purchased the Studio version in the first place, and this thread wouldn't have been necessary. I will see if I can find a way to suggest this to the company on their web site.

More likely your OS - WinXP Pro X64 is causing the problem.

I've had the same problem.  I had EMC 8.2 XE (Packaged with my MadDog LightScribe Drive), and got my free upgrade to 9, but with the upgrade I lost the functionality in MyDVD to do a single &*^*&% thing with chapters.  It's not even an option.  There's only one place it even shows up as a menu item, and that's grayed out.  I've been fiddling with this for hours, trying to follow the fairly clear directions in this forum, and getting increasingly frustrated.  "RoxAnn" was getting an earful too.

I'm glad someone finally got a straight answer out of Roxio.  Chapters do not seem to be supported in the EMC version of MyDVD that I have.

BTW, I'm running Vista Business 32 on a Dual-core AMD-64 system, so I don't think it has anything to do with the OS.

I wasn't referring to the Chapter problem with that comment.
