I am running a Window Vista operating system and Soundsoap does not install. I contacted system support and they said to do a clean install of Easy Media Creator 9 Deluxe and it shoud install with it. I did as they said and once again Soundsoap did not install. It did not even give me the option of installing it. Does anybody have Soundsoap working on a computer running Windows Vista?

It didn't install on my Vista system either but I looked around and found  this page which states "This product may not currently be compatible with Windows Vista or Intel Macs. Please check compatibility with manufactures before purchase (manufacturer link can be found at the bottom of the page)"

If it did install, it would not be listed with the Roxio programs.  You would find it by going to Start/All Programs/Bias.

Hi VistaOwner,

Prior to your post, I hadn't noticed that SoundSoap was not installed on either x86 or x64 versions of Vista Ultimate. I just assumed that the functionality of SoundSoap was integrated into the Sound Editor. However, I just checked my XP x64 installation and SoundSoap is installed separately (in its own program menu group - "BIAS").

Apparently, as Beerman stated, even though EMC9 is [questionably] Vista Compatible, SoundSoap is not, and therefore not installed. I just checked the BIAS-INC system requirements for SoundSoap, and there is no mention of Vista compatibility.

Thank you for your responses. I got in touch with someone different at Roxio Support and he did confirm that Soundsoap does NOT work in Windows Vista. Roxio said they did not have a date of when Soundsoap would work with Windows Vista.

I would imagine that it would be when Bias puts out a patch to make it Vista compatible.  I would bet that it won't be too long from now.

I just talked to BIAS (Soundsoap) support and they said it was up to Roxio to put out a Vista patch.

A Vista patch for Sound Soap?  I don't think so.  The Sound Soap that comes with the Deluxe version of Roxio is the LE version that Bias has.

If you look on the Bias site, does it say Sound Soap is Vista certified?  I haven't looked.

Thanks, Jess.  I don't know if the download update will work for the lite version, but it may be worth a shot.

You're right though. The published one in BIAS website is the full version which BIAS might have already updated for Vista. But we're not sure about the strip-down version (lite version) that is in EMC9 Deluxe. Hopefully, we'll get response on that issue.

BIAS certified Sound Soap se 2.1 (the one we got in EMC 9.05 deluxe) two days ago. And they (BIAS) suggested that Roxio would be offering an update for the SoundSoap SE 2.1. Have no idea when however.

And BTW, that update that's on the BIAS-INC website will NOT work with the version that we got with 9.05 deluxe.

Thanks, Frank.  I wasn't sure, because I don't have the Deluxe version of EMC 9 installed.

I spoke with Customer Support at BIAS.  They have released a version 2.1.1, which is an upgrade from 2.1.0.  They main revision is Vista compatibility.

However, they state they are not supporting the "SE" version, and assume Roxio has a download link to upgrade.  They referred me to Roxio to get the upgrade.

I am running the latest version of BIAS Soundsoap program (2.1.1) that is Vista Certified. On the computer I installed it on I am only running XP as the operating system. The Soundsoap program runs just fine with my EMC version 9.1.068 program and XP. Since I am not running Vista on that same computer, I can't suggest how it works with it, except that it is the Vista Certified version of Soundsoap.
