Along with the DLA problem in vista which ic now has a patch, roxio central cannot load and needs to close. I find this in windows xp sp2 also on an intel motherboard with core 2 duo processor. I did not have the roxio central crash in xp on my p4 processor pc. Could this be a link? Now I did not try vista on my p4 as of yet to see if roxio central crashes on that pc like it does on the core 2 duo but I do notice no one talks about a central crash. I do see there is a beta central to download that is vista friendly but expires shortly. I hope roxio can solve this problem in a patch soon as without central funtioning I loose half of the software funtionality I purchased as any portion that uses the roxio shell is doomed to the same crash.

I have no problems with it using XP with SP2. I don't know what to tell you. I don't have, or want Vista, but it sounds like there is something, with your computer, that is causing it not to play nice with the software.
Try going to your programs through Start\All Programs\ Roxio EMC 9\whatever program you want to use.
Life is good!

I dont have a problem with EMC9 on my Pentium 4 pc running xp sp2 either. It is only on my core 2 duo that I have a problem and it is the same problem in xp sp2 or vista. I wonder if it is related to the new architecture of the core 2 duo and motherboard. being that the core 2 duo and vista are new, but xp has the same trouble with EMC9 but only on the core 2 pc. I think there is a link there.
I do use the start menu as it is the only way to launch programs but you still loose the programs that use the roxio central shell or interface. anything that uses the roxio central shell is doomed to the crash.
