hi guys,

i´m new to this forum. i am from germany, so please be patient with my english... ninja.gif

so, here´s my question:
i have a recently finished dvd project and test burning on dvd-r of the project is ok, all is working fine.
now i have to write a dlt tape, but the dlt streamer is not showing up in the "write master" dialog. the line is greyed out. sad.gif

the dlt device is shown in the windows device manager and also in any other application which can write on dlt devices. i used also a quantum dlt test program and it wrote some testdata on the tape - no errors.

my config: see my signature below.

any hints are greatly appreciated! i have to send the tape on tuesday, otherwise my customer will kill me... blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

best regards,
Arndt

don't know, maybe a driver issue. anyway, download the 30 day trial version of Gear Pro Mastering Edition. It will let you write to DLT from a volume. maybe that will be more successful in finding your DLT machine.

Hello, Scott.

I need the CSS feature of DVDit pro HD.
As I read, I cannot write an ISO with CSS flag turned on!?!?

you can write a volume and then add the CSS with Gear. there are some good online tutorials for how to do it. Just google CSS and Gear Mastering and it should give you the info. you want.

Hi again,

Gear Pro Mastering 7 did the job for now! smile.gif Thanks for the good advice, Scott.

BUT: Gear Pro 7 costs $399 and I am not willing to pay AGAIN for something that DVDit Pro HD is advertized to be able to!

Roxio, I consider this issue to be a software bug of DVDit Pro HD as all other software is able to recognize and use my DLT streamer.
Luis from the support chat said, that he considers the old driver to cause this issue, but the driver provided by microsoft (vendor: quantum) has the same version number than the driver provided on the quantum website. The file date is from Oct 2006 (not so old).

So, Roxio, PLEASE do something about that issue. Gear Pro is a trial version and will not work any longer in a few weeks.

Regards, Arndt

not yet. we are working on DLT fixes, though again your issue sounds like its with the drivers...even though in your case those are fairly new. Hey, maybe that is in fact the issue. Maybe updated drivers broke our link to that DLT machine. I will have QA check into that.
