I recently purchased MyDVD9. I managed to capture the short 15 minute video I wanted, but when i go to burn it, I get an "incompatible disc" message. I have read other posts and wonder if I need to update the firmware, but how do I do that??? Thanks for your help!

We'll need more info such as your computer specs. What type of burner do you have?
You may want to also try burning to an image file then using Disc Copier to burn that file to a dvd. But, if you're not using the correct disc for your burner, it makes no difference.
Either way, updating your firmware, if one is available, is a good idea. If you're not sure about it, ask someone who knows what they're doing to help you.

It sounds like you put a DVD into a CD burner, which isn't going to work. Provide more information, as per Paul's suggestion.
