I have been thru a lot of topics to resolve my issue and can not find one that will help.
I recently purchased EM9 (uninstalled EM7).  I created a dvd in videowave and now i want to burn
and it says "No recognizable Disc in Drive" .  I have sucessfully burned many dvd's using EM7 and it will not recognize my drive using EM9.   I also recently purchased a new graphics card and have installed it and a lot of the previous Media video options now appear!!!!!! Wonderful.
Can you help me figure out how to recognize my drive???? I have also try using a DVD-R and DVD+R and neither one works.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Main System:
Dell Dim 4600
Intel Pentium 4 , 2.8ghz, 768 mb ram
MS Windows XP home edition 2002, sp2
Recently installed graphics card Nvidia GeForce4 mx420
Intel Pro 100 M Integrated PCI NIC card
Maddog MD 16x3 DVD Burner 9-8x
Samsung CD-R/RW sw252s

Does it not recognise the disc or the drive you mention both?
You have applied, the PX/pxengine1_08_34a.exe?
In device manager any errors or yellow exclamation mark by DVD/CD-Rom Drives?

Explain this "i have put other disks in my dvd drive and they work"?

No yellow ? marks in device manager.  Dvd/Cd rom drives all ok.

What is PX/pxengine1_08_34a.exe?

When i put a dvd-r (blank or used) disk in my dvd drive it recongizes the disks.

When i 1st open EMC9 at the bottom it recongizes my DVD drive and says the name (maddog).

Try going to Mad Dogs website and making sure that you have the latest firmware installed on that drive.I've read a couple of things saying this drive has problems with certain media types.
"Do you wanna see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you wanna hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because....."
