I hope someone out there can help me. I have read thru the other topics that are posted and there seem to be a lot of smart computer people out there that can help me figure this out.

I got the Roxio Easy Media Creator Suite 9 (i was using My DVD version 5.0 prior to my old computer being stolen)

I have loaded the new version 9 and have created a picture slideshow using pictures and background music. As soon as i hit burn project it just freezes!!!!!!

I emailed Roxio support they had me update my driver which i Did i have Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE
They told me to update DirectX did that

Tried to burn again no luck

I have a Dell XPS410 Media Edition system core2 Duo
my burner is a TSSTcorpDVD+-RW TS-H553A

I dont think that its my burner, i had a trial version of NERO and was able to use that to creat a slideshwo and burn it no problem (its just doesnt offer all the features of MYDVD)

Can anyone help what else can i try

Thanks for helping Laura

It sounds to me as if the graphics card is the problem. There have been numerous reports of difficulties with the 7300 LE as it doesn't seem to be capable of rendering

You could try using software rendering (you will lose some of the fancy transitions tho). In MyDVD, go to tools>options and beside 'graphic test' change from hardware to software

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

try the following for the 0% problem since you say you have the current video drivers installed.

Uninstall the video drivers.
Reboot so the default Windows vga drivers install.
Install the current Nvidia driver.
Reboot.

Tow try. (Note, you should get a message about Videowave reevaluating your video card).

Tried the above and still encoding sticks at 0%

Any other suggestions besides returning the program smile.gif

I uninstalled the video driver and followed the steps above still sticking at 0% on the encoding

Can you think of anything else for me to try?

There's a driver here dated 2nd November 2006 but you could still have problems with that particular graphics set

Hi,
I have had the same issue as you Laura.  I have been frustrated as well but I have it working now.  My system is almost a carbon copy of yours so this should work for you.

First dowload the driver like the gentleman said above.  Here is a link:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_93.71.html

Then...
Right-click on My Computer
Click on Manage
Double-click on Device Manager
Click on the Arrow next to Display Adapter.
You should see your NVidia Card.  Highlight it and then hit the delete key.
Reboot.

When you come back up install the driver you had downloaded.
Open up Roxio Media Creator 9 or one of your projects.  You will notice that your screen will flash a few times as the program recognizes your correct Video settings.

Burn your DVD.  I hope this works for you too!   biggrin.gif

I have a 7300 LE video card and had the same problem and the same driver you had.  I fixed the problem by going to the following site http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxpmce_93.71.html and downloading the driver and installing it.
