During bootup I get a message "RoxMMTrayApp module" The program has performed an action to temporarily change the color scheme to windows vista basic.

Before getting this message i was able to have all Vista aero features, now none of them work!

Please advise, thank you for any assistance

ok, not sure why, but it appears the cause of this problem is an easy creator 9 program called CommonSDK.  With the help of Dave from technical support, found that going into msconfig>startup and unchecking the CommonSDK program gets rid of this error.

Roxio is supposedly looking into to the cause of this problem.

Anyone who knows if Roxio has published a fix on this one. I think it's annoying to get the warning that I have fixed on the msconfig every time I start Windows

Not sure if it's related but when I use Videowave or MyDVD, my system switches off Aero and goes into Basic.  I've talked to others and they don't have this problem.  I assume it's a video driver issue though I've seen no evidence of video problems elsewhere.

I'm going to take a stab in the dark here Paul with a theory

Roxio does use the graphics for rendering and what may be happening is that the Aero interface is putting a heavy demand on the GPU, so the app switches that off in order to fully utilise the graphics system
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Sounds reasonable but I do know that this didn't happen until I wiped Vista and reinstalled.....it worked fine originally. And, I think my video is up to the challenge.  Aero is no big deal so I just don't worry about it.
