From what application of the Suite are you trying to burn?
Instead of burning directly to a disc, try to create an image file. Then use Disc Copier to burn that image to a disk.
Let us know how it goes.

Very many thanks Malatekid for your helpful reply which does make sense to me. I have put the 'image' onto the hard disc and will now try Disc Copier to see if I can achieve what I am trying to do! Once again, very many thanks.

Matalekid I cannot now find the image on my hard disc. I do keep saving all the copies I make but cannot find the damned things! I was using 'My DVD Express' when I got the error notice previously referred to. I will start from scratch again and see what I can achieve this time!

Matalekid I have found the slideshow in 'My Video' folder but when I try to copy I receive the following message 'Cannot copy Slideshow 12 April. Files on this CD-RO drive are 'read only'. You cannot copy or move files over to this CD-ROM drive' Have you any idea what it is I could be doing incorrectly? Thank you so much for your trouble. Dennis

Copy? You mean when you tried to "burn"?
You can not use a CD-ROM drive to burn a DVD nor a cd. Do you have a DVD burner?

Matatekid I have a DVDRW IDE 16X installed and I am assuming that that is where everything I do is going. For the umpteenth time I am still getting this message from the Slideshow Assistant when using MyDVD "Burn Project - Overall progress 100%. Current task completed 100%. An unrecoverable device erroroccurred. Error while encoding Movie !" What on earth am I doing incorrectly? I am so frustrated by it all. Thank you so much for your interest and, more importantly, your help. Thank you. Dennis

Matalekid just by way of an update I have now managed to copy the disc! I installed Nero then went into it and found that which I had captured on Roxio and copied it from there onto a DVD. There is obviously something wrong with Roiio which is a pity for it has some good attributes.
Thank you so much.

Thank you so much.

Looking through the thread, you created the ISO file as suggested but never opened Disc Copier to burn it. It appears you used Windows Explorer which is incapable of burning any DVD…

In MyDVD, when you go to burn, uncheck the Burn to Disc, and put a check by the Save disc image file. Make a folder for it before you burn, then name your file, and browse to the folder you made.
After the .iso file has burned, open Disc Copier, browse to your image file, and burn it to a DVD.
