Been using LiveShare very successfully for over a year now.
But all of a sudden, it will no longer share. I've not made any changes to the computer it is on or my router.
When trying, you get page not found error.

Also, when clicking on preview in manage live shares, the cursor flashes between pointer and the hour glass for about a minute then stops. And the preview never opens.

As a test I installed Media manager on another machine I have and same exact results when trying to preview or view a share.
Windows XP Pro on both machines.

Is Roxio's server offline that provides the address forwarding?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

Has Roxio stopped supporting Live share in ver 8, since ver 9 has been released?

I think folks are not answering, because they don't know.  I don't use that feature, so I am one who doesn't know.

Contact Roxio, and see what they say.

No,  live share should work in V8 as well as in V9.  First try using the fix --zipped file located here to see if that helps, next make sure you router is set to allow UPnP.

I just tried it and could not access the server.  I had a computer crash lately so I'm not sure if it is my computer or the Roxio Servers.   They have had a lot of problems lately so I wouldm't put it past the company who hosts that site.

I'm sure they will get it up and running soon.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I spent over an hour in chat with Roxio support the other day. They were not much help.

You stated you tried accessing the server, how did you do that?

Thanks all for the suggestions. I will try them in the mean time.

When you set up Live Share, you have a choice to invite. When you click on that you can select copy to clip board.  I did that and then pasted the address in my browser.  I kept deleting part of the address  but was never ever to get to a higher level.

It appears that something has changed in ver 9. I received the following repsonce (finally) from tech support. As what he is talking about does not exist in ver 8, he must be refering to ver 9, hence I suspect something has changed in addressing and they are not supporting 8 any longer in this regard. Sigh.

From Support:
Defining the web address for your LiveShares
Friends with mobile devices that are not HTML-aware can access your LiveShares from a web browser by entering the web address (or URL) for your LiveShare. Use this procedure to define a web address, and tell your friends to link to “liveshare.roxio.com/” followed by the link address you enter here. For example, if you set the link address to “Chris_Black”, the address would be

liveshare.roxio.com/Chris_Black

To define the web address for your LiveShares:
On the Manage My LiveShares dialog box, click Link Address.
Type the address you want to use, and click Create.
Tip: The address must be unique, and it must be in valid web address format. We suggest that you use your name, replacing spaces with underscores (for example, Chris_Black). If someone else is already using this address, an error message displays, and you must specify a different address.

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. angry.gif Maybe i'm to old to see it but here is what I have in V9.  Anyone see a box or line to Link Address?

An interesting difference. sad.gif  I don't think I have ever seen that address box on V8, V8 deluxe, V9 or V9 deluxe.  I checked to see if it was another one of those glitches form reaching the programs from the Home Application page but it was not.  Next thing is video set up.  You have ATI, I have nVidia.

Perhaps others who read this post will post if they see that box or not and what video chips they have/use.

Have you tried to set up an address and does it work?  I've used live share before and did not have to set the address; it was done automatically.  For V9 there was a patch to fix an auto-address issue.

I reached it from the home page. I've never been able to get liveshare to work in V8 or V9 i think it's something to do with my router because if i bypass the router it did work but i havn' t tried that with V9.
