I am having issues with EMC9 not detecting the burner.  The burner is listed under my computer and has been working properly.  I tried removing RoxWatch, D2D, and other Roxio items under msconfig with no success.  I then re-enabled everything under msconfig with no success.  I removed all other burning software prior to installing EMC9.  Any assistance is appreciated.

I ran the patch and EMC9 now shows the burner.  THANKS!

I do have another question.  Even though EMC9 shows the burner, D2D still does not see the burner.  Not that I am going to use this tool, however, I would like to know why it does not see the burner.  Also, what exactly did the patch do?  Thanks again for the help!

The way it was explained to me is that one of the things it does is manipulate the Upper and Lower filters. This is what helps the unrecognized drives problem.

You might have other software installed that has taken control of your burner.  D2D is a packet writing program (not reliable in many peoples opinion no matter what software you use) and is similar to Sonic DLA and Nero InCD among others.  HP has a version as well.  Removing others may help.
Also, some programs like Alcohol 120% can cause problems as well as AnyDVD (think I read this) so it's hard to tell why it doesn't work.
Not 100% sure but the patch adjusts some registry settings that effect  filters.

[font=Arial Black] HELLO BEERMAN:   sad.gif I write in high hope that you can provide some assistance.  I have just installed EC 9 and already having problems.  I cannot get the Task Tray 'Pop Up' to recognize the two recorders on my DELL Dimension 520 w/ both DVD and CD-RW drives.  Also when I try to 'address' the Menu 'Advanced Options' selection the resulting screen is blank.  Any ideas?  I am an Intermediate PC User. BTW-I ran the 'patch' discussed above in this discussion thread.

In the future, please start a new thread instead of hijacking this one.
Do you have any other software pre-installed on your system? It might be causing a conflict.  You can also try this patch and see if it fixes the drive recognition problem.

sad.gif Please accept my apology for 'hijacking'! I admit to probably inexcusable ignorance as to just how this Forum functions. I shall certainly review the 'Rules/Proper Proceedures when I can locate them.  I am very sorry but I do thank you for providing a possible solution. I am indebeted.  smile.gif At least please have Happy Fourth of July.  And, again, sorry to step out of line -- no offense, please? unsure.gif

It's not the end of the world and you won't be sent to bed early or given a time out,  just some good forum etiquette.  Something I admit I don't allows follow either.
Happy 4th to you too!
