Help!  My recorder dvd drive suddenly has a message saying  :Drive reserved for Roxio Drag to Disc kernel.
It won't let me use it any other way.  Can someone please tell me how to remove that?  Big thanks!

Reboot your computer, and it should be gone.  Also, disable Drag to Disc, via msconfig.

Better yet, go to Add/Remove Programs, click on Roxio EMC 7, click on Change, then click on Modify.  On the next screen, scroll down to Drag to Disc, click on the icon to the left of it, and select "this feature will not be installed", or whatever the lanugage is.

Select OK, then follow all of the prompts, reboot, and you will not have a problem with that notice, again.

Remove the formatted CD from the drive.  Carefully put it somewhere else, such as the trash can.  That should fix the problem.  (If it is a RW disc, you can erase it for re-use, but NEVER use RW for anything you want to KEEP.  They're good for testing.)

If not, check down in the lower right-hand side of the screen to see if you have an icon for Drag to Disc.  If so, right-click, and tell it to Exit.

And NEVER FORMAT a disc again.  If you want to use the other programs in the suite - the reliable ones - use a BLANK blank, directly out of the package or off the spindle.

Lynn, thank you!  The cd is in the trash as you suggested and now all is well.
Big smiles to you!
