No valid recording device could be found

I am suddenly getting an error "No valid recording device could be found. Please check your connnections and try again" The burner works fine with my other applications.
What could cause this?

Try re-installing, maybe some sort of registry setting/driver got whacked...

I've tried reinstall, no luck, also no response from roxio help. maybe a brick... seems like I spend more time chasing problems than actually working... computers, hate em an love em...

Check the web site of the manufacturer of you burner for the latest driver/firmware.
