After several installs and patches, and solving runtime errors, etc. My system crashes to blue screen when recording cds. tech people say can't run Nero on same computer. Nero works fine, always has. roxio even prior versions, always problematic. Does anyone have a solution for running both apps on my computer? if i have to let go of one, i'd rather keep the one that never gives me problems.

Nero's InCD and Roxio's Drag to Disc are both packet writing programs and cannot co-exist. One must be removed and you'll find many on these forums suggest all packet programs be uninstalled. They serve no successful purpose in my opinion.
If you must have one on your system, remove 1 of them and reboot and you should be back in business.

sorry for my ignorance, but what is a 'packet program'? and if I don't need any packet program what is the best, most efficient program to copy/record files to cd/dvd? and if I want a program for creating slideshows, is there a better alternative?

Basically, packet software takes a formatted disc and lets you simply drag and drop files to a disc. It's not a safe method for saving date.
You can use Creator Classic to save data to a disc and even add to it later.
Use Videowave to make your slide shows. You might benefit from the tutorials on the best way to create your slideshow.

Creator Classic is still Roxio product? is it a separate purchase? is there anything else that you recommend that is not Roxio product?

You are in the Roxio forums!!!!!! You aren't getting the message. Uninstall InCD, then come back and tell us you results.

hey...no need to be rude. I thought Forum's were for honest discussion and help from friends out there who have knowledge that some of us might not have. Just cause we are discussing a Roxio product doesn't mean you can't recommend something else? Unless you work for them!
I've had nothing but problems with versions prior to 9 as well. If I don't even need packet software, was just wondering what else i might try? is all. If you have no suggestions other than what someone else already said...help someone else.
I was not aware that I could record data to cd's without one of these products. Every computer i have owned, shipped with it preinstalled. Did not know. Just wanted to learn.

Try promoting Roxio in a Nero forum (or any other one) and see how long your post stays in place tongue.gif

You are the one being rude. blink.gif Maybe you will learn from Daithi's answer, then. wink.gif And no, we don't work for Roxio.

If you have had problems with versions prior to EMC 9, then you should list your system specs, similar to how I have them listed in my signature. We might be able to tell if your computer is up to snuff to run Roxio programs.

I have Nero, and EMC 7.5, and EMC 9 on my computer, and I have no problems. I don't have Roxio's Drag to Disc, or Nero's InCD installed. I have no use for them.
