I have 48 hours to hand in some work for important medical exams. Since I lost the date and time when I downloaded 'movies' from 8 cm dvd I now have to add a text overlay of a clock every 7 secs which is essential for the marking. This had been going well other than being very time consuming.

However, now I can't access the text box to edit previous overlays or add any new ones so I am left with 'add text here' on the screen. I have no idea how this has occured, it seems like a program error since it is just simple editing that won't allow me to proceed.

Please help

What application (not version) are you using?  I hope it is Video Wave.  Are you looking at both the internal and external tracks?  Clear the proxy files and see if that helps.  You might want to reboot and then reopen that project file.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

PC  Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Laptop - Windows 7 Home
Dell XPS 1645, Intel I7 1,6G with overdrive ,4G RAM, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB Panzer, 500G hard drive.

Apple =OSX 10.5

Thanks for the advice. I did a repair of the whole software and it corrected itself!
