Haven't a clue
Seriously, it's probably a cut-down OEM version (bundled with a computer, drive or something)

Does not seem to be a OEM version. Can be found in Sonic website.
But does not seem to have as many packages included in EMC 9 ???

You found it on the Sonic website?
The Sonic website links back to the Roxio website and there are two different versions of EMC 9 as shown here http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/creator.html
The more expensive package contains a capture device and more programs. However, I don't see an XE edition listed there.
If you have questions about the programs, I suggest you read this to find out more information http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=9389

Not so, it is a cut down (limited) version that is given away with computer part purchase such as Mad Dog Burners. It may also be the version that comes with Dell computers.
Read this. Note the OEM designation. Reading between the lines, looks like Media Manager, Media Import, MyDVD, maybe Music Disc Creator, and Disc Copier. Some of those may be the Assistants which have limited capabilities.

Seem that there is a real version of 9.06.
I checked the CD creator classic and drag and drop, both showing 9.06... in my friend's PC.

That may be the software core batch number , but the marketing sale version is allways 9.0
maybe in a later release date of EMC it may be 9.1 (if and when they release the vista certified version)
Im running the XE version at the moment in a test unit, and it is a limited version version of EMC9 standard, it dosnt have some items, and it is a release for new DVD drives or New OEM PC's , the same as Nero have done for a wile.
im sure there will be very limited support or patchs for this version as it is classed the same as the trial verion (as is ........where is.... unless you upgrade and pay for the full version)

I believe the version you have is OEM which does not include the full capabilities of Videowave and MyDVD.
