Has anyone succeeded in using EMC 9 in converting files for the Blackberry Pearl phone? Seems to be very difficult and a general lack of options.

I have the same question. I just loaded Easy Creator 9 with hopes of creating ringtones for my Pearl...no go. Hopefully Roxio is preparing an update. The Pearl is a big seller!

Ringtones is under Audio. It is listed as Create Mobile Phone Ringtones. If that doesn't work with the Pearl, I would bet you won't be seeing an update, unless it comes from Xingtone.

From looking at their web site, the Pearl supports both midi and mp3 file ringtones. Xingtones should be able to handle those formats but it does not seem to support your Model 8100.

what kind of ringtone are you talking about? Since Pearl supports mp3 files, you can just use any mp3 files as your ringtone... do you have trouble creating mp3 files?

More on my post. You should be able to connect that phone to your computer via USB and just copy that mp3 music file to your phone's memory. Keep it to about 1 minute long; trim it using Sound Editor and copy it using Music Disc Creator once the phone is connected. No need for Xingtones or other software. Read your owners manual.
