Hi...just going crazy...hope you can help

I'm able to create a small slideshow  (20-30 photos).  I've added music to it and now I just want to burn it to a dvd.

The error I receive is   Media is not compatable with project
capacity of current disc is  656.1
estimated size of project is  189.6

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated...I've tried a number of brand new cd's   just in case the initial cd was bad.

Thanks in advance for your help...

Change the project settings to VCD or SVCD, if you are burning it to a CD.  It is probably set to DVD.

First I would like to thank GrampBruce your solution allowed me to burn the cd correctly.

Now that I have created the disc , I just can't figure out how to activate the disc when I have someone insert it on their laptop.   I thought they would just insert the disk and the slideshow would start.

I feel like a child in school with 100 questions.  The user guide just does not have the answers that I'm in need of.

I just need to know and understand if I've overlooked a step.   I'm able to create the slideshow with photos and then I added the music and I'm able to burn the cd by making sure that I set the value for disc format is svcd.  The cd is the created, but now how to execute the cd on another machine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Is the other computer set to "autoplay" the disc?  That's a Windows setting for that player.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

In addition, the computer you put it into needs to have some program (a player) that can play the vcd or svcd type discs. WMP I don't think can. VLC media player is one that will (and it's free).

Hi Larry, thanks for the quick response.    After I created the cd (which contained may 30 photos and background music).   I shutdown all of my windows on my desktop where it was created and just inserted it into my cd played.  The menu screen came up and some music started to play which I did not select.  When I would click on my menu photo it would just enlarge my screen .    Is it suppose to be this difficult to create and play photo cd’s.   Have I purchased a product that maybe I should have done more research on.  It just seems that co-workers are able to bring in their photos on cd and we all can just play it with no problems.     Is there a product out there that I should look into rather then this one.

The slideshow looks great when I preview it on my machine,  I have a feeling that I’m just not doing something after the cd is burned with the data files.

I’m getting depressed….it should not be this hard because I am computer literate.

Any help would be great….

Thanks

What program opened up when you inserted the disc that is playing the menu?

The music you hear is probably the menu music that is part of the theme you picked when doing your project.

You are not just "putting data on the disc" when you create a vcd or svcd CD, you are turning your pictures into a video production in a format so they can be "played" by a vcd or svcd compatible player.

I guess you need to ask your friends what they are doing to put the pictures on their discs. When you "just play" theirs, what program is playing them?
