I am having problems creating a DVD, project is created and image creation is commenced, it gets to 97% overall then seems to sit there trying to encode menu with this progress at 0%
I am using a custom built menu, (don't know if this effects it) but can't see anything I've done wrong. All my video drivres, etc are up to date.
system spec is as follows
Dell 8200 P4 2.4Ghz, 1GB RAM 256MB Nvidia FX5200 Graphics Card
Win XP SP2
80GB Hard Disk (10GB free)
160GB Hard Disk (28GB free)
Anybody any idea's what to do?

Instead of opening MyDVD from the Roxio Home app, open it from Start -> Programs -> ...... Starting it directly like that will prevent problems like this.

Any other ideas??
Try to do it in Software Rendering instead of Hardware Rendering.

Although you may be using D as the destination, temp files get written to C before it finalises.
Clear all temps, including the internet cache and see if that helps

OK, Thanks, I'll give it a go,
Just as a point, it all seems to relate to the menu I am using, it is a custom menu and background is saved to png file format (same as roxio's own).
I have tried it with roxio default and this creates ok, but I want a particular image for my background, not the view of trees!!

What happens if you convert the png file to a jpg and use that as your background?

I am waiting for 2nd try at fixing from Roxio Support, if they actually help and this is still open, then I'll post my resolution.
------------------------------------
Here is what they sent me to try fixing ... didn't work for me, but might work for you:
You will probably not need to use all of these steps so test after each one.
1.) Update to the latest version of Direct X from the Microsoft website below.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en
2.) Update your video drivers. (this is important)
To find out what video device you need to update you can click on start, run, and type dxdiag and press enter. Click the display tab at the top of that window and that will tell you the manufacturer of you video device.
3.) Disable startup & services:
For Windows XP:
a. Click on the Start button and select Run.
b. Type msconfig and click on the OK button or press the Enter key.
c. Select the Startup tab over on the right side.
d. Write down which items are checked, and then click on the Disable All button in the lower right corner of the screen.
e. Click on the Apply button.\
f. Select the Services tab.
g. Put a check mark in the box beside of Hide all Microsoft Services WARNING NOT CHECKING THIS BOX FIRST COULD CAUSE A WINDOWS COMPONENT TO BE DISABLED
h. click on the Disable All button in the lower right corner of the screen. Then recheck these two items roxmediadb9 & roxioUpnpRenderer9.i. Click on the Apply button and then click on OK.
j. Click YES to restart the computer.
k. When you reach the Desktop, you may receive a message saying you have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to your system...., you get this message, simply place a checkmark in a box on the lower left side titled, Do not show me this message again and click on the OK button.
NOTE: To reverse these changes, follow steps a to c, and then place the checkmarks back in the boxes based on the notes you made. For optimal performance, only Anti-Virus or Firewall software should be enabled. (for this test all should be disabled)
4.) Start the ROXIO sub program you wish to use or created your program in from the Start, All Programs and select Videowave, MyDVD and DiscCopier as you wish. This is important that you open the program using this step instead of going through the home menu.
5.) After project is loaded or created, click Tools, Options, then select Software Mode.
6.) Under File Program settings if your show is under 1 hour..Choose HQ, High Quality, if over anhour choose Fit to Disc. Be sure to click the radio button to normalize the audio levels.
7.) Save your MyDVD creation.
8.) Select Burn button, then select Save as Image (ISO)
9) When complete close MyDVD and Open Disc Copier with the Start..All programs method. Burn the DVD from the ISO file. Note: Disk Copier will burn the DVD at the same quality found in the ISO File.
