Add me to the list with the same problems with label creator in Easy Media Creator 9. I previously had version 6 which was easy to use and had the correct templates for printing CD labels on my Avery label paper. I am NOT impressed with the label creator in Creator 9. I find it very cumbersome to use along with the "closing down" issue. After having limited choices for design, editing, etc., I was expecting great improvements in Creator 9, but I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the label creator. Now, I am going to have to try to find the correct labels to print my projects on, if and when a "fix" is available to resolve the font and editing issues.
I have the VISTA operating system, also and at this point, I do not have many good things to say about it. Too many software companies have drug their feet on developing compatible software and patches!

I did find a Lightscribe feature in EMC9 before removing it. It was a "light" version of, Sure Thing Label Creator, not a Roxio product. When I was exploring the program there was an update/upgrade option. The update option was for half price. It was about $12.00 for the download. Sure Thing does more then Label Creator and it works well with my version of Vista. The program will do paper as well as Lightscribe labels.
It's a fairly cheap option if Roxio Label Creator doesn't work on your machine.
