Hello,

I'm having trouble importing a quicktime movie into the MyDVD interface. Are these not compatible? Any tips?

Thanks!

You have to have the latest version of the QT Viewer installed so that V7.5 can make use of its' codecs.

You did not mention the Source of these QT files???

Nor what the problem was?

Nor what program within the suite you are using?

The QT files came from a colleague who'd created them on her Mac. (I have a PC, running XP). I copied the movie file onto my hard drive, hoping to add them to a DVD project on MyDVD. When I click to "import new movie", the QT file doesn't show up as a supported file that can be imported (movies that I've made with Windows Movie Maker do).

And in an embarrassing turn of events, I suddenly realize I posted this in the wrong forum. I'm actually working with EMC9 and MyDVD9 (Not 8).  unsure.gif

No problem, we can move the topic.

In MyDVD you would choose Add New Title.

If you don't have QT installed, you will receive an error to that effect. My V9 PC doesn't have QT and I used Explorer to drag an MOV file into it and got the error.

However MOV files do show up in the selector.

Upon closer inspection, the files aren't MOV but rather DV.  I didn't realize there were different formats of Quicktime. I have Quicktime 7 installed on my computer. Does MyDVD support movies in the DV format? If not do you know of any way I can convert so that I can still use them?

If by DV you mean avi format then yes myDVD should have no problem using them.
