I just did a digital transfer of an old 35 MM film. The avi file is crisp and clear.
I want to capture a frame from an .avi file to create a jpeg. I guess I'm not asking the right question in my searches to get an answer.
Can this be done and how?
thanks

I have V9 but I think it is the same in V8. Open Media Manager and navigate to the video, right click on it and select Extract Image. You can do that in Video Wave also using the little camera icon just below the preview but I don't think it gives the same quality.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

In Media Manager, browse to your video, right click on it, and click on Extract image. Go through your video until you get to the spot where you want a photo, and click on Extract Image. Save it to a folder on your hard drive.
