I have toast 7.0.2, Mac OS X 10.4.4 and i use a lite-on DVDRW SOHW-1633S. I used to burn verbatim DVD-R 4x and 8x without problem, but since i can only find 16x DVD-R Verbatim, i can no longuer burn dvd. All it does is filling the cache ram, burn lead-in then lead-out et i get error message... The disk was not burned at all. Anyone has an idea of the problem?

I would say your drive doesn't support 16x burning. I would try Taiyo Yuden with low burn speed like the 4x or 8x you did with Verbatim.

It's likely you need to update the drive's firmware to work with the newer media. There is a firmware update listed here for your drive, but it requires flashing with the drive connected to a PC.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Even if i have 16x disc, i woudn't burn faster then 6x (too much failure). I would stick to 4x or 8x media if i could but i only find 16x dvd-r in stores anyway.

Thanks for the link! I'll upgrade the firmware tonight. Hope this will works.
