Probably a dumb question...just got a DVD burner, and wanted to write my backups to DVD intstead of CD.
Didn't find any way to select between them, so I assumed EMC 7 was smart enough to recognize a DVD when it saw one.

When I tried to burn, it told me I needed 5 CD discs. I let it burn to the DVD, which seemed to go OK, but then after 700meg it stopped and asked for another disc.

In the main EMC screen, on the status line, you can switch to a DVD, but this seems to be inromartional only.

How can I get it to used the larger capacity of the DVD? Surely I am not the first to try this!

It might be a good idea to let us know what program, in the suite, you are using.

At the bottom of the main Creator Classic interface next to the project size bar, there is a dropdown to select disk size. Choose DVD 4.75GB from that list and you should be good to go.

Thank you, sisterscape. Doing this and going to Burn worked for me.

I had hoped to write a Backup disc using a DVD, but it seems this setting does not carry through to the Backup world, so I don't get the fancy Autorun and retrieval capabilities -- big deal, I'm happy to pick files off the DVD. Do later EMC versions allow backup to DVD?

Thanks again...

Starting with EMC 7.5, the new versions have programs for that.
