I think NeroCheck did something to my system so that Roxio 8 no longer can find my drives.  When I open the program it says "No Drive Detected."  However, when I go to the "Do More" button in "Disc Information" both DVD drives show up in great detail and they show as "Ready."  The drives are fine in Device Manager, and they play CDs and DVDs fine.  They worked before, but after installing Nero 7 Roxio 8 quit working.

I receive an error message from NeroCheck, "The LowerFilter or UpperFilter Registry key for CD-ROM was containing incorrect drivers.  It has been corrected."  <sic>

Did Nero fool with settings to ruin my Roxio install.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Roxio, but that did not fix the problem.

Roxio tech support has been *worse* than worthless!  Their answers have *nothing* to do with what I have been writing.  Furthermore, they send fomula answers on other topics.

I really would like to fix this!

Thank you!  :-)

Yes, NeroCheck 'broke' or undid the installation of our CD drivers.

1) Uninstall all Roxio software including EMC 8
2) Uninstall Nero
3) Run http://tools.roxio.c...ols/roxizap.exe and reboot your computer at the end

Now installing Creator 8 should work fine, but Nero may always remove the drivers again.  You may want to try installing Nero first (make sure you're using the latest download version from their website) and then install EMC 8 and see if that works better...

Thank you *very* much!!!  Uninstalling Nero fixed the problem!  You were more helpful than 10 messages to tech support!  I don't think I will reinstall Nero, as that was what caused the problem in the first place.  I'll charge the lost money off to experience.

Thank you again!

Have a *great* day!  :-)

Nice to see a happy and appreciative customer, who had his problem fixed. Good stuff :)
