I am running sound editor in Roxio EMC 7...i have no problems recording or editing audio tracks, but once i try to save or save selection i get the following error.

No Sound Edior Codecs are available on your system. Please reinstall and try again.

so far i have tried to reinstall EMC and my audi card and drivers with no luck.
ive also tried to update both windows xp and wmp 10.

does anyone have any ideas what else i can try???

Audio codecs come in a multitude of forms - I personally use this one (the full version) and it can handle just about anything

Uninstall Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7). It breaks Roxio EMC 7, 7.5, and 8.

Usually just installing them does the job - you could run gspot from that codec suite to check what codec is needed.

Did you follow Bruce's suggestion about IE7 and WMP11?

Once you uninstall IE 7, if it doesn't work after a reboot, you can try a Repair through Add/Remove Programs. You scroll down to the Roxio EMC 7 entry, click on it, then click on the Change button, not the Remove button. You will eventually get to the Repair screen.

Edit: I am not sure if the Repair will work with a downloaded version. unsure.gif

A clean install of the software should work, then.
