I've have Roxio 7 and have been very pleased with it's photo fix and edit program (of course as well as it's video production features).  I'm thinking of going to Roxio 9 in hopes that the photosuite has also been improved.  Does anyone have an opinion if the photosuite program has been updated from 7 to 9 or is it basically the same program?  Frankly the Roxio photosuite seems to do many of the things that Adobe Elements does.  Can anyone comment on the differences in Roxio and Adobe for photo enhancements?  I really don't want two programs if they are close in feature richness.  Thx

I haven't seen Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 ( I Have 4), but Photosuite and PSE aren't even in the same league. PSE is much more advanced image editor.

I have PSE 5 but do agree with ggrussell.

The Photosuite in V9 (thanjs gi) is much better than the one in V7. Download the free trial of EMC 9 and see for yourself. If you were satisfied with Photosuite in V7 then you should be more than satisfied with the one in V9.

Thanks guys.  Sounds like I should go with 9 which I will.  I shoot a lot of "on the fly" JPEGS. One of my main issues is being able to work with a higher level of initial image such as RAW images prior to using them in shows.  However, I can use my OEM Nikon program (which has limited adjustments) to handle RAW and then convert over to JPEG's to use with Roxio.

By the way if you are interested, Nikon has come out with the Capture NX program and it has some advantages over Photoshop for the newbie, but I do agree that Photoshop is the standard for working with any still images AND with a RAW plugin.  Roxio is definitely my standard for slide and video programming.

Regards
