So im tryin to make a dvd for a friend of mine, and i go and try and add an avi file to the menu, some of the movies will add, and some will not?

Near as i can tell, the only difference is that the tooltip in mydvd, says the there are no attributes, as compared to the ones i am able to put into the menu. all the attributes state, are resoultion, FPs, bit rate and length.

When i go into the windows properties and compare a file that works, and one that doesn't, they look identical, as far as what information is provided...granted that there will be differences in size and what not.

any idea how i can fix that? by adding the information or something?

thanks for the help

forgot to mention, that all the files are .avi and that im runnin windows xp pro, 2gb ram, a little under a TB of HD space, a 7950gt card, and 64bit amd...i think thats all

Try this, open VideoWave and add one of the AVI files that do not work in MyDVD. In Video Wave, output that file (icon that looks like life a film reel) to a mpg2 for DVD best quality. Add that file to My DVD. If that doesn't work, there is something in that file that the program doesn't like. You may have to recapture it.

If any of the files are protected by US DRM restrictions, those files can not be added.

Thanks for the tip, i was lookin into that program, i noticed that when i added a working clip into mydvd it changed the size from 1gb to 4.5gb, not sure y, but im thinkin that divx program might be the way i want to go. ill have to fiddle with it some more to figure out what is actually goin on

on other note, when i tried to burn one of the files that worked, i wouldnt do it, i forget what the reason was, it was getting late, so i went to bed lol

thanks again
