mad.gif Hi all, please can someone help me?! I have recently bought a Sony Vaio laptop which came with EMC9 pre-installed (on Vista Home Premium 32 bit).

On starting the application the product registration page opens stating "connecting to our servers". Then it changes to "No internet connection" with two options "Try again" or "Cancel". Trying again just keeps the prompt going around in a loop of connecting to servers then no internet connection. Clicking cancel has no effect and leaves the prompt on screen until I switch off the lapop!

Any ideas before I go mad? Many thanks.

Check that the MS firewall isn't blocking the app
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I have checked that both the windows firewall and also Norton Symantec firewall both allow the programme through. Apparently, it should work! I have emailed both Roxio AND Sony about this, neither appear to be very forthcoming with their answers!

Try actually disabling them and also turn off any pop-up blockers or anything that 'filters' the internet (Windows Defender and so on).

Something in the computer (or maybe a router) has decided that the app shouldn't connect
