I just bought EMC 7. Install gives me the error 1309 cannot access flie "mpegstreamdemuxer.dll"
The file is on the cd, but I cannot access it in any way. Can't copy, disc copy won't work. Tried copying to hard drive, this is the only file that will not copy. It is in common/roxio shared/sharedcom
Can someone send me this file? I would appreciate this very much. Thanks for any help

It sounds as if you have a faulty CD - where did you get it from?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Ebay, new sealed in the box. Best Buy sticker and rebate certificate attached. I am pretty sure it's not bootleg. Seller has almost 7000 feedback, almost zero neg.

You might contact the seller and explain the situation. It could be a faulty disc.

Maybe I shd've added - I have a CD I bought used & cheap which has a bubble in the plastic. The track with the bubble is .... well, I don't know if it might be playable or not; when suddenly my computer screen went black and there was dead silence my heart missed a few beats as well by the time it came back up.

I have another copy of that CD (also used and cheap) that plays fine. I considered re-selling the first copy, but I think someday I need to trash it.

There are legitimate commercially-pressed CDs with flaws. Rare, but it happens.

I am returning my bad cd to the seller for a replacement. Thanks for the feedback and interest.
Does anyone have this program installed that would copy the file and attach it for me? Thanks Ken

I have AVG installed. It misidentifies the MPEGStreamdemuxer.dll as a Trojan.
The way to bypass this is to disable heuristics. Installed with no more problems. Work great.

The reason I don't use AVG is it considers Roxio ECDC 5 to be a virus.

Yes, Roxio did issue a patch with an alternative vesion of the file in question, but my confidence in AVG as a potential AV program on my computers was badly dented. (And that's only from reading posts by others; it allowed me to avoid learning the hard way myself.)

Still, I'd rather work around a false positive than repair a false safe.
