I just purchased EMC9 because I was lead to believe it would be able to copy my tivo file to a DVD so I could view them when I wanted. I tried to use both the Disk Copy and the Compile DVD & Movies functions. I get the same result with both. When I browse to the Tivo folder none of my files show up. I am using version 2.3.a and have recorded and transferred all filed to my computer with this version.

The error message say "TIVO files have been detected. Tivo Desktop 2.3 or higher is required to preview or use these files in a project.” I click OK and they still do not list.

I don't know why you haven't gotten any results but there are several knowledge base articles on TIVO including this one.  Here are others.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I am getting the same message. I just bought the software under the same thought-- I wanted to be able to transfer my TiVo recordings to DVD to watch while traveling. We have a trip coming up next week. Not happy right now after spending the money. Do we have to spend another $25 for the TiVo Desktop upgrade before Creative Suite 9 will work?

You could contact them directly, and ask.  Or type in Tivo, in the Search box, and see what you come up with.

There may be issues with the programming you wish to burn to DVD.  For instance you may order a movie on pay per view, but it has copy protection that will not allow it to be burned to DVD.  Even some of the programming on Disney will not allow it.    I don't know if it has anything to do with your issues but it might.

I was told from Roxio I could burn a Tivo show to DVD with the basic that I wouldn't need the suite. My new Vista pc came with creator basic 9.  I was even told by Tivo to go to this MyMuvee thing which I had already done and pick the Tivo file and click burn to disc and it locks up everytime.  It gets stuck on so many % done at the same spot everytime I try.  So I am thinking maybe the file needs to be comverted 1st.  Well I am wanting to buy a portable video player that plays Mpeg 4 video and was going to purchase Tivo 2 Go plus to convert my Tivo shows to Mpeg 4.  My Vista pc 32 bit the 2.3a works fine and I read the 2.5 wont work only works on 64 bit Vista. I am one of the lucky ones that the 2.3a that I have  works on my Vista.  My XP laptop I just put 2.5 on today and I was going to puchase plus next week.  Someone said plus is better on the 2.5 I am not sure the difference but I need to convert my Tivo shows to Mpeg 4 somehow for this new Archos device I am getting.

Then today I am on the Tivo 2 Go website downloading the 2.5 for my laptop and I read about Roxio Creator 9 Suite and how it will convert your Tivo shows so I called Roxio. He said yes with the Suite  can convert my Tivo shows to Mpeg4 which is what I will need for my portable device and is what the tivo Plus will do.  I am assuming once I convert it it will then burn to DVD. But I can upgrade my Roxio basic to Suite for 49.99.  So If I do that and it will convert Tivo shows then I don't need the plus right? They said Suite comes with My DVD.  I wasn't sure which route to go Tivo plus or upgrade to Suite. I don't need to burn shows to DVD cause I usually transfer to laptop and watch and now I will trasnfer to new portable video player.  But I have one show that my friend wants that I want to put on DVD for her.  I still need to be able to convert it to burn I am guessing so if the Roxio Suite does the same thing as Tivo 2 Go Plus maybe I'll do the suite. Just wondering what to do.

Edit:  Ok I just puchased the Suite paid 50 bucks and am having the same problem.  I use Tivo Desktop 2.3a and it says when I try to convert I need 2.3 or higher.  Then when I go to add movie to burn it says file can not beedited or whatever the message is others are getting.  I have to go to work but will call Tech Support tomorrow.  I only bought the suite to convert Tivo shows and to burn shows to DVD so I am a little upset.  Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

I don't know if you've gotten an answer or not, but try converting the .tivo files to a different format first.  I can successfully get them onto my ipod by turning them into MPEG-4 files right after transferring them to my computer from the tivo, and its easy to edit once the file isn't in .tivo format.  Hope that helps!
