After removing some old programs I've found out that my drag to disc icon has "no recorder" and when i attempt to burn something I get "no drive detected" under destination selection. I must have removed something but I have no idea what it could be.

help.

Let me add that when I go to device properties for all my cdroms the device status reads: windows
successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device

Since Windows is not seeing the drives try going into Device Manager, deleting the drives and rebooting.See if Windows finds the drives correctly after it restarts. If it does then see if D2D recognizes them.

I'm a bit apprehensive about deleting the drives. what if that doesn't work?

It won't hurt anything. If the drives themselves, are not dead, Windows will find them as soon as you reboot.

I want to be clear on this: by "delete" do you mean "Uninstall" ?

thanks
