I purchased EMC9 in the fall and, like many others, had numerous issues (so many it was unusable). Much of what I read in the forums seemed to point to IE7. I was also seeing similar discussions elsewhere for other vendors' products. So, I really began to suspect IE7. I waited a few months to see what surfaced and to see if Roxio came up with any solutions. After checking back recently and not seeing anything new I made the decision to revert to IE6.
Since this particular PC is dedicated to my interests and not used by my family, it was a no-brainer. I uninstalled EMC9, manually cleaned up all remaining folders, used Fix-It Utilities 5 Registry Cleaner to locate lost registry pointers and delete them (carefully). I then uninstalled IE7, which reverted to IE6 with no glitches. I then patched IE6 and reinstalled EMC9. I hate to say it, but every application has worked flawlessly so far.
I always maintain a very clean PC and keep all hardware drivers up to their latest fully tested versions. This helps, of coarse. Also have a PC dedicated to such tasks, without a lot of non-related software installed helps also.
Good luck to everyone else and I hope that this post helps others.
