I bought Roxio EMC 9 on ebay. Maybe that was my first mistake. dry.gif

When I recieved the package from the seller, I had two Memorex CD-R's. When I put in "disc 1", the install disc. It prepares to install, it asks me to select a language, and then a window pops up that says:

Setup encountered an error during installation.

Error code: 0005

And when I click OK - the error window disappears and the setup window disappears and that's the end of that. Nothing else happens.

Any ideas?

I've looked for a back door to the installation on the CD. No luck. I've researched Error code 0005. Nada. The ebay seller sent a new "disc one" and the same thing occurs. Nuts. I have browsed the threads of the past weeks on this forum and nothing seems to fit this problem. Rats!

So, I appeal to you now, oh knowledgeable ones. Can ya help me out?

Thanks!

You didn't say how you paid for the program, but if it was through PayPal, there is an automatic safe guard with them, so if that's how you paid for the program you will be able to re-coop your money through their insurance program. Be sure and give them every bit of identity information that you have regarding the seller's name, number and any other identity information. And definitely contact Roxio Custormer severice (by phone) and also E-bay. On E-Bays website you can get the number to call for things like this.

I agree---PUT THAT FELON IN JAIL !!!

DEFINATELY contact eBay. It's illeagal to post pirate copies on eBay, and the seller can be kicked off (and should be).

That makes it hard for legitimate sellers. (And I was one for a couple years.)
