I have EMC9 and was wondering if there are any motion backgrounds that can be added to to this and if there is, what would be recommended.

.. added to this ...?
Please provide more details of what you intend to do. Are you looking at a particular program in the Suite? What kind of project do you have in mind to work on?

When putting a slideshow together, the background behind the pictures and/or in the dvd menu. Such as ringing bells for weddings presentations or for graduation themes. The slideshow would be put together in videowave.

Do a search on the net for video clips of interest (like ringing bells). Add that clip on the main track. Add the pictures in the overlay tracks. Arrange, resize and adjust the durations of those pictures to fit within the duration of the video clip.
For the DVD menu, there are some predefined motion menu templates in MyDVD taht you can use. Or you can change the background with your own clip/picture. Click on any unused area of the menu background, right click and select Change backgound.
