I have borrowed a friend's machine to use their copy of DVDit HD Pro for some DVD editing I need to do, so please bear with me if this is common sense to everyone else!

I would like to know if it is possible (and how!) to import VOB files from a HDD straight into DVDit.  I know I could rename the extension, but this isn't really an acceptable approach since there is more than video and audio encoded in a VOB!

Any help appreciated.  unsure.gif

Shame, would seem like such a common sense option.  But thank you for such a prompt reply!

Just for the record for any other novices out there!  (I hope this doesn't break with any forum rules!)

Whilst DVDit will not directly import VOB files, it is still possible to edit a current DVD.

What you need to do is 'demux' (de-multiplex) the VOB file.  This seperates the VOB into its video, audio and subtitle streams, which can then be imported into DVDit.

See http://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/vi...de-multiplexers for a list of tools - http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VobEdit appears very good at this.  Just open the first movie VOB, click demux and select "Demux all Video/Audio/Subtitle streams" checkboxes near the bottom. Click OK!

Hope this helps someone else without needing to spend the hours I have working it out!
