Go to windows support site, perfom a search for the Windows Cleaup Utility. This should remove the program from your computer.  Then try to reinstall

Obtain RoxiZap and run a few times. Roxizap is a support utility that removes Roxio Software. Do a search on Roxio's support site.

You may also have to run a reg utility like WINASO, which is the one I use, I was able to install the EMC8 after cleaning the registry and it also activated everything but the SONIC portion of the program because I don't have the key which is supposed to be part of the program.

But the rest of he program ois workign fine now after reinstalling.

The winASO cleaned my machine up very well.

Ther reason is at some time you probably had an old version of ROXIO on this computer and it was still in the registry.

And I am not running the fast machine

Roxio Zap should have remove any old left overs of any other program.
