I have the same error message.  It is very wierd.  I can burn a picture based mpg to a +RW disc, but when I try a +r disc, I get the 80004003 error.  I can burn a movie based mpg to the +r disc.

Your problem is not the same as the problems that users were having in the 7 month old thread that you posted to.
