Not too happy with my new videowave 8. I can't even change to view to timeline without it crashing. Can someone help me?

Specs are;

Intel core 2 duo 6300 1.86Ghz
Win vista 32 bit
Win media player 11
NVIDIA Ge force 6300 GS
1GB RAM

Have tried; downloading latest direct x 9c and updated video card Nvidia.

Still having problems though. Help please!!!
