Has anyone had problems using EMC8 with Norton antivirus applications enabled?  My system crashes whenever I try to save a file to a cdrw from an application (like MS Word) and my Norton is enabled

Yes it is a known issue and Norton has a fix for it.

In a pinch, turn off ‘Active Scanning’ before attempting to do any writes using D2D.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know where I should go within the Norton site to find the solution.

Symantec Knowledge Base Article:
http://service1.syma...niver=sav_ce_10

Blue screen when saving Microsoft Office files to a writeable CD with Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0 installed

Situation:

You install Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.0 and Roxio Easy CD Creator 6.x or 7.x. When you save a Microsoft Office 2003 file to a writeable CD by using the Roxio Drag to Disk feature, the computer does not respond and shows a blue screen. The computer may restart automatically.

This problem does not occur if you save the Microsoft Office 2003 file to the hard drive and then drag the file to the CD.

Solution: This problem is fixed in Symantec AntiVirus 10.0.2.
For information on obtaining the latest build of Symantec AntiVirus, read How to obtain an update or an upgrade for your Symantec corporate product.
