I'm pretty much a Ludite when it comes to computers. However, I've managed to burn a few slideshows on to DVD, using MyDVD (Roxio EMC8).
My latest project is 276 photos and 7 music tracks. After burning, using MyDVD, the slideshow jumped from phot99 to photo199 (the same happened on Windows Media player, even though the preview was OK).
I followed advice, on one of the other topics, which was to burn to an iso file and use Disc Copier/Classic Creator to burn the disc.
I can create the iso file OK but when I try to burn it, I receive a Windows error message and Roxio is closed down.
I'm sure there is somebody out there who can solve this for me

I'm not sure what is happening but try this if you made the project in Video Wave.  Load the project and then out the project to an "mpg2 for DVD best quality" file.   Let the project encode.  If there is a glitch in the project, the encoding will stop at the time where there is that glitch.  You can look back and see what is not right.  It could be a bad image, bad transition, bad timing, bad music etc. but you should be able to narrow it down.  If the project encodes, then just add that project to your My DVD menu.  Since it already encoded, it will go quickly other than the menu itself.  If it hangs, there is something wrong with the menu.  Switch to or check to make sure that you are encoding in the software mode (tools, options, put the dot near software) and try again.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Sorry, sknis, but I don't know what you mean when you say "out the project to an "mpg2 for DVD best quality" file". Like I say, I'm an old fella trying to get to grips with new technical language!!

If you created the production in Videowave, load the project to Videowave. Click the reel icon on top of the Preview pane (or from the toolbar, select File>Output As). A dialogue window opens up.

Choose
1) Video file for Destination
2) DVD Playback for Purpose
3) MPEG-2 for DVD, best quality for Video file quality

Sorry, guys, I created the slideshow on MyDVD and not Videowave. Does this mean I have to start again and build it up using Videowave?

Using the "Add Slideshow" or the "Add CineMagic movie" in MyDVD. If the second one, it allows you to go to Videowave (from MyDVD, right click on the title and select Edit movie) and then follow the steps I outlined above.
