Please provide details of what you are doing.

Music files in the software? Care to elaborate what files and where are they located?

If there are files in the directories, they most likely will still be there when you reinstall unless you manually delete them.

I have hundreds of music files in my media library that I would like to delete permanently. Even removing and re-installing they are not accessible but are still listed. I would like to wipe the slate clean.  Thanks.

So if you highlight a file or series of files, and click the delete icon, nothing happen? Are the files, by any chance, set to read-only attribute?
