I installed EM9 on Vista Home Premium about 1 month ago - worked beautifully !!!  No problems......in the past few days I started loosing functions of EMC9: i.e., won't output to AVI file, the pan and zoom editor does not work properly, burned DVD's have freeze-ups and skips in them.....so I uninstalled according to the directions on this site, re-installed, and now I have even less functions:  tried to output to an AVI file and during render I get a grey screen, viewing captured video clips speeds up or clips.

I have a 1 1/2 month old HP dual core 5200+, 2G Ram, 500G hard drive, 512 Graphics card, all the stuff that should run videos well.....

I love this program as it meets my needs for my video purposes......any suggestions - I'm guessing uninstall and reinstall again????

I'll get some lumps for asking this but might you have installed some other programs since EMC was working well?  Something else installed might have caused a conflict.  I'm not sure what registry cleaners are out there for Vista that are dependable but you might benefit by some cleaning to start before you reinstall again.

I'm having similar issues on my HP DV9235NR - features which worked are going bye-bye.

In my case, I have not installed any new software since installing EMC 9, except for Windows patches. Those don't count, right?  rolleyes.gif

I have not gone through the pain of deinstalling them, and my one attempt at using Vista's Restore Snapshot feature did not result in good things after uninstalling the preloaded Sonic stuff (which is Roxio).

Here's the uninstall link if you'd like to spend an hour going through the reinstall process in the hopes it may solve your problem.

Sorry about the sarcasm, I'm that way when I get frustrated. Which I am. In case you couldn't tell.

If you haven't added anything except Windows Updates (and we all know about those - remember the very first one that actually messed things up with Roxio) you might have picked something else up by acident.

Have you run a spyware sweep on the computer to check for stuff that shouldn't be there?
