They both use different version of it and they are not
Compatible IntervideoDVD8 InstallShield Update Manager take over
And the view is corrupted so you only get half the view in the window
Anybody having this problem ?

You didn't mention what OS you're using but it would seem that the Intervideo program could be having problems with Vista

Have you checked with Intervideo themselves?

Yes i told them Vista 64 intervideo tech support has no clue
when i uninstalled DVD8 it took out the R0xio install sheild updated manger window view
and now when i goto the task manger in Vista 64 it show 2 insallsheild update mangers running
this is what happen last time to os there is some type of conflict going on
the insallsheild manger is a add on program the software maker buy to add to there programs
to aid in install & updates

Try uninstalling ther Intervideo program - that seems to be the main culprit (I can't think of any other programs that cause that sort of interference to another)

However, having said that, Vista 64 has a set of problems all of its own (lack of drivers and so on). That's one reason I got rid of XP64 - while it worked, it still had lots of driver problems that the 32 bit OS didn't have (not to mention programs that just wouldn't run on it)

Unfortunately, the 64 bit end of things is fraught with puitfalls (MS try to make it 32 bit compatible which is why you have two sets of 'Program Files'). To be honest, the ONLY 64 bit OS I've been able to utilise to any great extent with no problem is Gentoo Linux (and that's simply because every single app is built and compiled to AMD 64 specs from source code)

Windows compilation - well it's a compromise between what MS can shoehorn in to let you run apps and true 64 bit performance. Even the 32 bit version of XP has 16 bit stuff running in the background

but if they made a 64 bit vista only program i would buy that before i would buy one

I doubt if you'll get it - most apps will be made for the more popular OS (which is probably why we can't get any 'killer' apps ported to Linux). Even Mac stuff seems to lag behind on new releases

There's also GIMP (which has been ported to doze) and don't forget that most of the web runs on Apache.

However, still no 'killer' apps that will make it a 'must have' (but then again we don't get the marketing hype saying it's oh-so-essential and also it's self-updating so no new, cost a bomb, resource grabbing, 'new' versions either)

I was thinking about this a little and wondering, could the bit rate of the Installshields be different ? I mean he could have both 32 and 64 bit versions, right ?

EMC uses the MS Installer - not Installshield (which is why we recommend MSICUU.exe for removal)

I know - strange one. Maybe Installshield and MS Installer don't like each other - strange things can happen.

There could be problems with either the Windows Installer itself or the Installshield - but not sitting at his desk, it's hard to say
