Hi, I installed EMC 9 suite on a Windows 2000 SP4. Everything was installed (includinc CD 2). But when I start the printing photos program, it pops up a box saying "Preparing Installation gathering information" with a Cancel buttons. Some program within the suite don't do that but most of them does. Does anyone ha an explanation or answer about that problem ?

What happens if you let it run without cancelling?
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

Only if it's doing a repair installation - but which CD are you having to put in?

If it's the content one, I'd advise you to load that in the drive and run setup.exe from that and let it install the content (it won't do it automatically as earlier versions did)

It's a pdf manual for EMC9 - you will need the free Acrobat reader from here

This exact thing is happening to me now as well.  I've had this installed on my computer for many months and today is the first time this has happened.  Exact same thing, click to edit a photo and it starts trying to reinstall?  What's up?

Trace down what has changed on your computer since it was working.  Maybe even go back to a previous Restore point.

I installed Office 2007 (upgrade from 2003). Any known issues there?

Hmmm, just tried that, can't find a fix.  Have an email support request into Microsoft.
Here's the more odd fact -- apparently my computer had a pirated copy of Office 2007 on it ("favor" from computer shop).  I don't use pirated stuff (karma issue), so I bought the real deal and installed and that's when my problem started (don't say much for trying to be a good guy).  Maybe something to do with the Windows Genuine Advantage stuff?
