I just installed emc 8 and now I have compability problems with drag to disc 8 and drag to disc 7. Any dvd/rw's processed on emc 8 can't be read or added to on pc's with emc 7. Any thoughts?

Yeah, don't do that. I did not realize that 8 files could not be read by 7, but I do know that 7 files can be read by 8. I never load any packet writing software on my computer.
Aside: I have to make the assumption that you don't have D2D for EMC 7 and D2D for EMC 8 installed on the same computer. I don't think that is possible.

No, just dtd8...I wonder if I can uninstall dtd 8 and install dtd7 in its place?
If you still have EMC 7 on your computer, I don't see why not. You can uninstall the version 8 D2D, reboot, and install the EMC 7 D2D.
There are other folks on these boards who actually use D2D. They could drop in and let us know if version 8 D2D DVD's should be able to be read on a computer with EMC 7 installed.
I warn against using any packet writing software. If it is being used for anything other than the immediate transfer of files from one computer to another, it is the wrong program to be using.
D2D, InCD, DLA, or any other packet writing software is unreliable, at best, and there is a great danger in losing your important data, somewhere down the line.

V7 & V8 are not only compatible with each other, but reach back to v3.5c…
It would appear that this is a hardware issue. I am guessing your v7 install is on an older PC?
May be a simple setting issue too! Check the Advanced Eject Settings and make sure you have V8 set to Leave disc as is.

Thanks, James. I was not certain of the compatibility, but I thought that 7 and 8 were compatible with each other.

Just wanted to thank you guys for the suggestion to use the "as it is" setting...that seems to have done the trick...interesting how Roxio never has those suggestions anywhere to avoid incompatibility issues.
