I am trying to create a copy of my MP3 library 4k+ songs using EC9 data disc.
I do NOT want some back-up or archive crap. I simply want to copy over to a series of DVDs all of the MP3 files as straight, plain ol' MP3s. Why does Roxio EC9 insist upon parsing the MP3s in some specific manner and putting some Roxio Retrieve crap on disc one of the series of DVDs??? After much waiting disc 1 will open on another PC by way of the Roxio folder placed on the DVD. Then it doesn't put that Roxio folder with Retrieve crap on the other DVDs (#3-4) so they cannot even be read. I am so sick and tired of Microsoft, Roxio, Sony and others forcing their proprietary crap on us. Just provide me basic functionality and get the hell out of my way!!!   angry.gif

Can anyone direct me as to how to copy all 4k+ mp3s to a series of DVDs as plain old MP3s with nothing else on the DVDs and which can be read by any other PC???

Thanks in advance.

It is time consuming, but don't span discs/disk.  Use Creator Classic.  Copy enough to fill one disc/disk.  Repeat as necessary.

Actually, you are better off copying those files to another hard drive that you can store on the shelf until needed for backing up more data.

Yea I am using classic.
Trying to determine how many MP3s will fit on a DVD each time kinda defeats the purpose of having a "sophisticated, do it all"  program.

Using disc spanning is one of the least reliable forms of backup around - the only one worse is Packet-Wriitng (Drag2Disc, Nero's InCD, Sonic's DLA, etc).

If you want to have a USABLE backup (that you can retrieve from), I'd suggest following Bruce's advice  smile.gif
