I have not been in the forum for a year but I want to check something. Searching the forum I see many references to SATA but not the specific I am looking for. I am about to change out an NEC 3550 IDE drive for a Lite-on LH-20A1S SATA drive. Assuming I update the BIOS can I expect Media Creator 7 to see the drive and operate normally? Has anyone had any problems with this drive? Thanks in advance for any info.

EMC 7 uses dynamic drive detection (the drive firmware feeds the info to the program) rather than using drive tables so it should work
As the firmware also reports the media (type, rated speed, make and so on) it's as well to keep the firmware updated

This might sound like a stupid question, but I assume you have a MB that has some SATA port connectors, huh ? And changing the BIOS setup to facilitate using SATA hardware.
